Advisory Commission on Orders and Nobility

The Advisory Commission on Orders and Nobility of the Royal House of Georgia is inspired by the similarly-named body of the  Kingdom of Belgium, which serves to provide recommendations on orders and distinctions to be granted by the Head of the Royal House.

As a rule, recommendations should only be made by a reputable third party on behalf of a person who is to be considered for recognition by the Royal House. The recommendation can be done online and should include (1) a cover letter (2) a CV/resume for the person being recommended. The Advisory Commission will acknowledge receipt of the recommendation and contact the individual being recommended. Because a background check is necessary, an administrative fee is collected at this stage of the process.

Orders and titles that can possibly be bestowed by the Royal House are:

1 – Knight or Dame of The Royal Order of the Crown of the Georgian Kingdom (Post nominal= KGK/DGK)
2 – Knight Officer or Dame Officer of The Royal Order of the Crown of the Georgian Kingdom (Post nominal= KOGK/DOGK)
3 – Knight Commander or Dame Commander of The Royal Order of the Crown of the Georgian Kingdom (Post nominal= KCGK/DCGK)
4 – Knight Grand Officer or Dame Grand Officer of The Royal Order of the Crown of the Georgian Kingdom (Post-nominal = KGOGK/DGOGK)
5 – Knight Grand Cross or Dame Grand Cross of The Royal Order of the Crown of the Georgian Kingdom (Post nominal= KGCGK/DGCGK)
6 – Knight Grand Collar or Dame Grand Collar of The Royal Order of the Crown of the Georgian Kingdom (this Rank is reserved for the Grand Master of the Order, Georgian Royal family members, and Heads of State).

In exceptional cases, hereditary titles “of the Royal House of Bagrationi-Gruzinski” may be granted to highly deserving individuals, including:

  • Count of the Royal House of Bagrationi-Gruzinski
  • Viscount of the Royal House of Bagrationi-Gruzinski
