The Treaty of Iberians (Georgians) was initiated by King Erekle II and was concluded in 1790 between King Erekle himself and other sovereigns of western Georgia (King Solomon II of Imereti, Prince (Duke) Grigol Dadiani of Principality of Megrelia and Prince (Duke) Simon Gurieli of Principality of Guria).
By this treaty, King Erekle was recognized as supreme sovereign over the rest of entities of Georgia that are listed above. Therefore, Georgia was de jure (juridically) reunited under the supreme Crown of King Erekle. For almost 200 years, this very important historical was little known and discussed.
